Fibre Optics, transmit light from one end of the optic to the other. They are perfect when the use of electricity is deemed unsuitable as there is no electricity present in the optic. Available in a number of guises, fibre optics are the safest way to introduce light at low level.
Fibre optics only transmit light, not produce it so they must be used in conjunction with a light source. Many lightsources are available from automatic colour changing to extremely versatile DST (see below).
