The Sensory Company is not just another distributor of products for people with learning disabilities. We actually design and manufacture 95% of the products we sell.

Dealing directly with the manufacturer gives you piece of mind, and enables us tight control over quality of our products. If things do go wrong, you can rest assured that we have the power and resources to act quickly and efficiently, because we are not reliant upon any other third party manufacturers. Without doubt, it would be much cheaper to import items from the far east, but trying to explain a problem to someone speaking broken English from an electronics company in China isn't our idea of fun! Nor does it bring a speedy, successful conclusion to any problems that may arise. The few items we don't manufacture are carefully selected for their quality, reliability and safeness.

We try hard to get it right first time.....

We try hard to get things right first time. If for some reason we don't achieve this, we won't add insult to injury by taking weeks to sort it out. We analyse and learn from our mistakes so hopefully they won't happen again.

Years of specialist experience and feedback from our valued customers, carers and other professionals goes into every product we manufacture. Our installations and products have been OFSTED (UK government, educational inspection body) inspected on numerous occasions and had fantastic reviews time after time.

How do we achieve this? Easy.... all our products are designed specifically for the needs of the user, as well as their ease of use, by our team of highly qualified engineers at our research facility on the beautiful Isle of Man, UK.

This is quite different from some companies, who have historically chosen products meant for other markets (mainly disco lighting products), placed an 'education' tag on them and sold them at inflated prices. More often than not, these products are difficult to use and achieving good results is extremely hard. The carer gets frustrated and gives up.... another £500 worth of equipment gathering dust in the cupboard.

Our founder has devoted his working life to improving the standards....

Our founder, Nigel Bray, an electrical / electronic, software, and learning disabilities expert, used to supply many of the companies who are now our competitors, with specifically designed products, prior to The Sensory Company's launch. It was obvious that some companies were failing their customers with lack of back up service and products not specifically designed for the purpose. The only way to do a job properly is do it yourself! Consequently The Sensory Company was born and has continued to gain more and more friends worldwide ever since.

We are pioneers....

We invest much time and money in the research & development of tools for learning disabilities. We are the inventors of DST, The Sensory Theatre as well as the worlds first ever "Talking" Bubble Tube, Infinity Panel, and DST Magic Talking Cube amongst lots of other pioneering products.  The DST Magic Cube was immediately awarded 'Best New Product' at it's launch at the LIW exhibition, Birmingham, UK in 1998. It even amazed the (late) Queen Mother in summer 2000, during her visit to the Disabled Living Foundation, London, UK. Since then, imitations of these products have inevitably appeared in competitors catalogues - so we're obviously doing something right! They may look like our products but don't be fooled, they are not. DST is patented and so is available only from us or our approved worldwide distributors. If you think someone else's products will give the same benefits as ours, please ring us before you commit, and we'll explain (and even show you) the huge differences.

We really do take pride in the service and products we provide. We pack them full of relevant features, whilst also keeping a keen eye on pricing.

You wouldn't buy a car without driving it, nor should you have to buy any of our products without seeing their huge benefits first hand, in your surroundings. The demonstrations can also incorporate your own pupils / patients so you can see the benefits immediately.

Our sensory advisors have many years experience. They will convey ideas, and invest as much time with you as is needed to achieve a superb and desired result. We don't use 'hard sell' tactics. We never have, never will and have never needed to. The products literally sell themselves because of the benefits they provide.
